The Sydney WARRIORS make their debut into the Australian Volleyball League at 3.00 p.m. on Sunday 2nd October 2016 and more information on the players, the team and their impressive photo gallery can be found on their web site a

The Sydney WARRIORS will launch their assault on the National Men’s Volleyball competition at their equally new home ground at Netball Central at Sydney Olympic Park in the impressive new 27 million dollar International standard stadium. The venue is state of the art and will seat 800 sports and Volleyball-mad Warrior fans.

The team is youthful and ambitious with the aim of commencing a ‘process’ of developing and nurturing a pipeline to provide the next generation of Volleyball players from NSW exposure to the National tournament and competing at the highest level in Australia. Like their female counterparts, the Sydney AMAZONS, the objective of the team is to bring world’s best practice to the Men’s program in NSW and tap into training systems, methodologies, technologies and processes from the USA, Italy as well as the AIS and National Men’s Volleyroos’ successes.

The Sydney WARRIORS hope to create a pipeline to the ‘grass roots’ players and Club communities in NSW and help ignite, train and develop players in a ‘pathway’ that forms a talent pool and ‘hot bed’ of competitive male players who can contribute to the National program and help provide a new pool of available Volleyball talent that will add to the opportunity to qualify an Australian Men’s National Team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The winner of the AVL will qualify to play in the Asian Club League Tournament.
