After an impressive upset win by Adelaide in game one of the weekend, WA were looking to make amends and take their first home win of the season. Adelaide took control early in the match and were threatening a repeat of game one, but the Hornets rallied late and won a tight first set 25-23. From that point, WA coach Matt Hender kept an unchanged lineup for most of the second set, with good blocking performances and intelligent play from setter Nick Butler wresting control back from the Storm and maintaining it for the rest of the match.
